St George Latin Catholic Church, Arasupuram, Cherthala

His Excellency Joseph Kariyil blessed the new St. George Church, Arasupuram 26th June 2016. Many priests, religious and parishioners gathered to witness the blessing of the new Church which is constructed in a record time (453 days) under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Antony Nedumparambil.This church is a complete aesthetic and devotional experience. The sculptures and icons depict the tradition and antiquity of Latin Catholicism in Kerala land. The theme of the altar is inspired from the Jesus ministries mentioned in Catechism of the Catholic Church. Bishop Joseph Kariyil thanked the faithful and the priest-in-charge for the hard work and timely completion of the project. His Excellency also nodded to make necessary arrangements to elevate St. George Church to an independent chapel (Now it the Sub-Station of St. Mary’s Church, Thankey) in near future.
